For 2010, the Causeway Bike Ferry will run 22 days -- 10am to 6pm on weekends and holidays from July 3 to Labor Day. A $10 donation is requested for round-trip fare. $6 for LM members, one-way riders, and kids under 12. It costs us $10 per person to provide this service, so we appreciate your help to keep it going!
The Green Mountain Stage Race was selected by Velonews as one of the top ten stage races in North America. This will be the 10th year for the event which welcomes racers from the US, Canada and Europe. The event has four stages starting with a prologue time trial, circuit race, a two gap road race and a criterium in downtown Burlington.
Join the Brattleboro Section of the Green Mountain Club for its annual 200-mile bike trip which runs nearly the length of Vermont. The trip, for experienced cyclists, starts on Saturday September 11 near the Canadian border in North Strafford, N.H. and travels south on both sides of the Connecticut River to Brattleboro, Vt., near the Massachusetts border.
Fast becoming one of the biggest rides in the state, the fifth annual Kelly Brush Century Ride is a fully supported 100 mile ride through the scenic Champlain Valley. Riders may participate as individuals, riding either 25, 50 or 100 miles, competing to raise the most money.
Bicycle, hike, eat, and socialize at the VT Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition's annual outing. A choice of guided bicycle rides and hikes will be offered. Gathering time is 9:00 am. Trips depart at 9:30 am and return at 12:30 pm for a pot luck lunch followed by news of what the VBPC plans for 2011 and special remarks by Rep. Mollie Burke, (P-Brattleboro). All are welcome.
Grace Cottage Hospital’s Sixth Annual Tour de Grace takes place on Saturday, September 11. This fun, mostly downhill bike rally from Stratton Mountain Resort to Grace Cottage Hospital raises money to support the hospital. Start the 19-mile ride at the Stratton Mountain Resort base lodge parking lot anytime between 8 and 10 a.m., and end at Grace Cottage Hospital, on Route 35 in Townshend.
The Old Stone House Museum in Brownington, Vermont, is sponsoring their second Fall Foliage Run, which is a Half Marathon Run, 12 Mile Bike, and 5k Run & Walk.
It begins at the Old Stone House Museum and circles around the scenic and historic roads of Brownington.
Registration before 9/1/10 is $15. Registration after 9/1/10 is $20. Cost includes a cotton T-shirt.
Onion River Sports presents the Bike to Brunch Series 2010!
Join us for this series of destination-based bicycle rides to brunch every-other Sunday throughout the summer. These casual group rides will be at a relaxed pace to a different bakery or brunch site each ride. Enjoy breakfast with the group and then ride home together afterwards.
34th Annual Josh Triathlon is a 27 mile bike race through 5 towns, a 5 mile canoe or kayak around Stockbridge Bowl and a 6 mile run around the lake into Tanglewood in Lenox, Ma. Scenic, challenging and tons of fun and excitement as the race goes from Great Barrington to Lenox in the Berkshires.
Ride 25, 50, 75 or 100 miles on paved roads past the Northeast Kingdom’s lakes, ponds, and foliage; with rest stops, snacks and drinks along the way; corn roast & BBQ at end. Hike, walk, run or bike one or more sections of the 16-mile Trail Around Middlebury (TAM), as an individual, family, or team. The Trail Around Middlebury encircles the town of Middlebury, runs alongside the Otter Creek in parts, and through meadows, fields, and woods, and features views from elevated areas. The Trek event raises funds to repair and maintain the TAM trail.
A 1.2-mile time trial up steep West Hill Road in Warren. The last race in this summer's monthly time trial series. Start time is 6:00pm. Open to all riders. Entry is free.
Bicyclists are invited to enjoy the fall foliage while supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on an October 2nd ride around Lake George. The Peak Season Century will allow riders to take in the natural beauty of Lake George during the height of fall foliage season. The scenic trail will have supported rest stops and bicycle mechanics will be on hand for any necessary maintenance.

Tour the stunning Vermont fall foliage from one of the “best seats in the house” - your own bicycle - and enjoy a variety of the finest cycling options that South Burlington through Charlotte has to offer.
A 6.2-mile individual time trial up the east side of Appalachian Gap, with proceeds benefiting Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports. Entry is $35 for adults, $25 for juniors. The last race in the season-long BUMPS series, combining all the major Northeast hill climbs (hillclimbseries.com).
